This is the fifth book in the Sugarland Blue series that focusses on the lives of those working for the local police department It s a book that mixes suspense with romance in equal measures as the author delivers a fast paced, harrowing story that hits hard with events that are truly poignant As the story begins Austin is going through a difficult time emotionally as his heavily pregnant wife is seeking a divorce Resigned to be the best absent father he can be Austin carries on with his duties [...]

Wish this one could have been handled a bit different, but overall it was ok Have a lot of questions in the end though Are we going to get a Danny and Frankie story, now that Danny is pretty sure he is no longer sexually confused What was the questions about the reporter by Austin all about Are we going to get a story with Lauren s Nascar racing brother That would be a killer story, or are we going to get a whole new series with Austin s Texas brothers I am always up for stories in my home state [...]

An emotional wringer. What could bring a tough cop to his knees Well, Captain Austin Rainey is going to, unfortunately, find out His grief is boundless and the author allows you to feel every moment of grief and anguish His loss is only compounded by feelings of guilt and the real threat of being falsely accused of murder He has family, both blood and police, but his co worker, Laura Eden quickly rises to the task of confidant and friend as they work together to sort out the clues and leads that [...]

Review Bring the Heat A Sugarland Blue Novel by Jo Davis wp p3d0RZ 3qu Publication Date December 1, 2015Reviewed by Reading Pajamas DonnaRated 5 Stars Wow This is an explosive story that had me biting my nails from the start Laura was the perfect woman to help Austin, a strong man dealing with catastrophic events, struggle through all that life has thrown at him I loved how the author conveyed Austin s vulnerability while maintaining his strength That is a hard edge to balance and it was done be [...]

EhI don t know, this one had me shaking my head a lot As thing started out I was ok, the crimes were pretty gruesome I also get why things were hard for Austin view spoiler Here he is divorcing his wife, has a crush on someone else, then she dies Yet I felt like he moved on with Laura really fast Faster still was how she ended up pregnant Even his reaction there didn t bother me, it was what most people would do hide spoiler I guess maybe this one was just a case of things moving too fast to be [...]

This was an emotional read that I didn t want to put down Although I found the book to be pretty predictable, it was still an enjoyable book.

The villains in Davis s stories continue to become psychotic as you go through the Sugarland Blue novels. As has been alluded to in previous stories, medical examiner, Laura Eden, has the hots for Captain Austin Rainey After a terrible tragedy, the two finally have their chance to be together here, if a crazed killer who is stalking Austin doesn t end it first.Although Austin and his wife had almost finalized their divorce, and Austin had made peace with losing that relationship, he was looking [...]

I thought this was a great story Austins grief was well written, and believable There was a sense of time passing, so you don t get the feeling of instant love going on I though the bad guy plot line was great, I can usually spot the bad guy right off, I was guessing till the end I wanted to know about all the characters mentioned It was really heartbreaking his child died, I wish there was a twist that it was actually kidnapped Laura was well written as well, she wasn t pushy with Austin, and l [...]

Wow book 5 already I have read the first two books in this series and then I totally fell behind With that being said I couldn t remember the previous characters or their stories because it has been awhile In 4 weeks Austin is going to be a father for the first time with his soon to be ex wife While at the station he learns they were murdered and someone is out for revenge While a killer is on the loose Austin falls for Laura, the medical examiner who he has been mooning over Laura knows Austin [...]

Jo Davis knows exactly how to Bring the Heat The author s Firefighters of Station Five series remains one of my favorites and I felt like I was able to jump right back into her world of men in uniform, albeit a different uniform this time This book was dark and gritty and emotional with the perfect mix of romance and suspense.Full reviewhere.

It started out great, with sexual tension and a murder mystery By the end of the book I was ready for the story to be over and a happily ever after Poor Austin was put through the wringer He was a great hero, with good character and never mean to the heroine, which I hate However, I wish he had been alpha stronger and smarter concerning the murderer I got tired of his emotional turmoil and breakdowns Laura was a strong and compassionate heroine Loved her.

I love Jo Davis and her Sugarland Blue Noves are no exception This was a quick read and I felt the ending was a bit rushed but I still loved every minute of the book There were a couple of unresolved story lines but I am hoping they will be covered in future books I look forward to the next book in the series.

I wasn t as thrilled with this one as I have been with the others in the series I liked the stalker mystery, and whatever is brewing with his partner Danny, but I found the central love story lacking and confusing It had been built up over several books so I kinda expected , I think.

This was the best story in this series thus far Not saying the other stories weren t good or great, because they were A serious Must Read
